NYC

Where did you go?

U.S.A.

What tourist attractions did you visit?

I visited the standard tourist attractions in the U.S., and found no issues.

Did your IBD cause you any issues on this trip?

No.

Was there anything out of the ordinary that stressed you out, or could potentially stress out someone with IBD?

U.S.A doesn’t have universal healthcare like we do, so if you become unwell medical insurance is mandatory to receive treatment. For this reason, you really need to take out insurance when travelling with a chronic illness to the U.S.

Can you recommend how many days/weeks is a good time to visit this location?

Indefinite.

Can you tell us what the food is like?

Food in the U.S. is much the same as in Australia, although often much higher in sugar.

Tell us about the Toilets?

The same as Australia, however oddly enough their toilet’s are approximately ¾ full of water and they don’t half a “half flush” function.

(1 being in remission and 5 being in a flare)

3.

(1 being no issues and 5 being very difficult to manage)

2.
