Volunteers are an integral part of the CCA community and are located across Australia. By dedicating a few hours on a one-off or regular basis, our volunteers provide valued support to the IBD community.
Support group faciliator roles
Support Group Facilitators co-ordinate and facilitate support group meetings (monthly or bimonthly). Support Group meetings aim to reduce personal distress and strengthen the belief that an individual with IBD can manage their unique personal challenges.
Or, you may want to start as a Back-up Facilitator to assist the Facilitator to ensure the group can always meet regularly. We are currently seeking interest for Support Group Facilitators to establish groups in the following areas:
- Liverpool NSW
- North East Adelaide SA
- Darwin NT
We are also in need of back-up facilitators for the following groups:
- Northern Beaches NSW
- Launceston TAS
- Mornington VIC
Volunteer Teams are designed to increase CCA’s reach into local communities and enhance the quality of services provided to CCA members and all individuals living with or affected by IBD.
iConnect Support Crew
The CCA Digital Helpline, iConnect, provides an opportunity for those with IBD to access online support as well as resources, to help manage their IBD or assist them in their role as a carer.
The Support Crew provides support and information through online one-on-one conversations with people accessing the service.
Support Crew volunteers will use their knowledge of Crohn’s and colitis to assist clients with their inquiries and issues they are facing in a confidential chat format.
Crew members can be men or women with IBD, IBD nurses or carers of someone with IBD.
Expressions of interest in joining the iConnect Support Crew can be made via email to our Volunteer and Programs Coordinator: [email protected], or by calling 03 9815 1266 (option 4) during business hours AEST.
