Help support your local IBD community by establishing a local volunteer team.
CCA aims to strengthen peer support services in regional Australia with a dedicated Peer Support Corordinator to assist you establish a local volunteer teams to lead peer support activities including:
- Facilitating support group meetings
- Creating local media awareness
- Raising funds for local needs
- Organising education sessions in partnership with CCA
By becoming involved in establishing a local volunteer group you can connect with others who are going through the same challenges and support one another and the search for a cure,
Full training and support will be provided to all volunteers.
As well as providing emotional and psychological support, studies have found that patients with IBD who are active members of a patient support group are more likely to adhere to their treatment and become proactive partners in normalising their lives.
