IBD Helpline

A free national telephone service, providing support, information, counselling and referrals for those living with IBD, and their carers. The helpline is of particular benefit those living in regional areas or who are unable to attend support groups.

The Inside Story: A Toolkit for Living Well with IBD

This comprehensive information kit is an extensive resource including information on more than 20 different topics that can directly affect people living with Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis. There are contributions from medical experts and it includes the latest detailed information regarding diet and nutrition, medications, surgery, emotional factors, children and IBD etc.

This 150-page information kit is the first Australian publication of its kind and is available exclusively to members of Crohn’s & Colitis Australia. It is available online in the Members section of our website. Alternatively, copies can be mailed to members for the cost of postage and handling.

CCA Membership Rewards Program

Can't Wait Card

The Can’t Wait Card is issued to members of CCA who have been formally diagnosed with Crohn’s or colitis (IBD), to help them gain access to a toilet in times of urgency. It displays the diagnosed person’s name and CCA member number, and identifies that person as someone who requires urgent access to a toilet due to a medical condition.

Support Groups

CCA offers a nationwide network of more than 30 support groups with trained facilitators. Support groups provide an environment where everyone can contribute, and where everyone can receive empathy, support and understanding.

Volunteer Teams

Crohn’s & Colitis Australia is working with regional Australians to establish volunteer teams to provide support and leadership for those who live with inflammatory bowel disease.  The volunteer teams enable people with IBD and their families to connect with others who are going through the same challenges and support one another and the search for a cure.

IBD Forums

IBD forums, which are held at a range of locations throughout Australia each year, provide members with the opportunity to hear from experts across a range of relevant topics, including medical information and strategies to help live well with IBD. As a member you will receive a personal notification when one is being held in your state.

Youth camps

CCA’s camps provide young people with IBD and their families with the opportunity to meet, foster resilience, increase knowledge and form lasting friendships.These fun and rewarding weekends also build self-esteem and link up teens with other people their age experiencing the same challenges and successes.
