The Inside Story: A Toolkit for Living Well with IBD
This comprehensive information kit is an extensive resource including information on more than 20 different topics that can directly affect people living with Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis. There are contributions from medical experts and it includes detailed information regarding diet and nutrition, medications, surgery, emotional factors, children and IBD etc.
This 150-page information kit is the first Australian publication of its kind and is available exclusively to members of Crohn’s & Colitis Australia.
It is available online in the Members section of our website as an e-Book. Alternatively, a copy can be mailed to members for the cost of postage and handling.
Fortnightly CCA e-News
A fortnightly digest on news from CCA, featuring invitations to any upcoming forums, youth programs, and other events, updates from the Crohn’s & Colitis Hub, research news and more, delivered straight to your inbox on every second Wednesday.
12 rolls of Quilton toilet paper
For a limited time, new members will be sent 12 rolls of toilet paper thanks to the team at Quilton, who generously donated 6,000 rolls to CCA to distribute to members who are most in need as part of their Quilton 1 Million Rolls program.

IBD Telephone Helplines
If you want to speak to someone about Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis information, support or ways to manage your health, CCA offers two telephone support services:
Crohn’s and Colitis Helpline for individual help, information and guidance on Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, provided by our Helpline Coordinator.
Crohn’s and Colitis Nurseline, an appointment-based service where you will speak with an IBD nurse who will help in creating a personalised care plan. More >

Can't Wait Card
The Can’t Wait Card is issued to new members of CCA who have been formally diagnosed with Crohn’s or colitis (IBD), to help them gain access to a toilet in times of urgency.
The personalised card is the same size as a credit card for convenient storage, and displays the diagnosed person’s name and CCA member number. The card identifies that person as someone who requires urgent access to a toilet due to a medical condition. More >
New Member Information Pack
Upon joining, each new member receives a New Member Information Pack via the ‘snail mail’ within 1-2 weeks of registering.
The kit features a range of hard-copy literature, including:
- a welcome letter detailing membership benefits and how to access them
- your personalised Can’t Wait Card
- two recent editions of Inside Insight
- the ‘Wellbeing Toolkit’ booklet
- ‘My Partner in IBD Care’ booklet
- a handy fridge magnet and notepad with information on our Helpline
- various other helpful brochures
Our IBD forums are held at a range of locations throughout Australia – both in cities and regional areas, and each year they provide members with the opportunity to hear from experts across a range of relevant topics.
Topic can include medical information and strategies to help live well with IBD, and occasionally a personal story from someone living with Crohn’s or colitis is shared.
As a CCA member you will be the receive direct invitation to upcoming IBD forums, often before they are advertised to the public.
CCA’s offers a range of events and programs for young people living with IBD and their families with the opportunity to meet, foster resilience, increase knowledge and form lasting friendships. These fun and rewarding events also build self-esteem and link up children and teens with other people their age experiencing the same challenges and successes.
CCA’s youth events & programs include:

- YEP! Youth Empowerment Program
As a CCA member, you will learn about upcoming youth programs before they are advertised to the public.
CCA offers a nationwide network of more than 20 support groups with trained volunteer facilitators. Support groups provide an environment where everyone can contribute, receive empathy, support and understanding.
As a CCA member, you will receive notifications about new support groups commencing.
Crohn’s & Colitis Australia is working with regional Australians to establish volunteer teams to provide support and leadership for those who live with inflammatory bowel disease.
Volunteer teams enable people with IBD and their families to connect with others who are going through the same challenges and support one another and the search for a cure.
