Personal Stories

Please take a moment to read the stories of some of our members who have overcome the adversity of being diagnosed with a chronic illness. With your support, CCA will be able to continue to offer support to the thousands of other Australians diagnosed with Crohn's or colitis.

"The I of IBS means irritable, the I of IBD means inflammatory. The former means your bowel is slightly annoyed, the latter means it is on fire. Only one of these conditions can be treated with yoghurt."

Luke Escombe, musical comedian extraordinaire delivered a moving and inspiring talk at a recent IBD luncheon held at Parliament House. Luke described his life with Crohn’s disease and how he used his experience to create a critically acclaimed show called CHRONIC.
