The theme of Awareness Week 2009 was Employment and IBD. CCA has developed two comprehensive information booklets regarding IBD in the Workplace.

Live The Dream
During the 2009 National Crohn's and Colitis Awareness Week, CCA launched the Live the Dream competition for people living with Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis, providing three lucky people with the opportunity to spend a week working with The Australia Ballet, Australia Zoo and SBS.
The competition, supported by Abbott, was part of a CCA initiative to improve understanding of IBD in the workplace, and empower and inspire people living with IBD to achieve their career goals by communicating their needs to their employers and colleagues.
The successful entrants were:
- Chantelle Carr, 24, from Maclean, NSW - The Australian Ballet, Melbourne;
- Rebecca Rawlings, 26, from Glen Waverley, Victoria - Australia Zoo, Queensland; and
- Rachael Chan, from Doncaster, Victoria - SBS, Sydney.
Each of the winners kept a video diary of their work experiences, the highlights of which can be viewed below. CCA hopes the experiences inspire other people living with IBD to pursue their dream job.
